MILLINOCKET, Maine — One of the stars of TV’s “American Loggers” was issued a summons earlier this week after police said they found a parked Subaru station wagon that had rear-end damage.
Jeff Pelletier, 42, of Millinocket was issued a summons Sunday morning for failure to report an accident. The summons was issued about eight hours after an accident was reported on Kelly Lane, police said.
Police said a neighbor called in the accident at about 1:05 a.m., about five minutes after it happened. Sgt. Jerry Cox and another officer got there within a few minutes, but the colliding vehicle was gone, police said.
However, the officers had a general idea of what kind of vehicle did the damage — a GMC pickup truck. By process of elimination, police said, they found Pelletier’s pickup truck at his home on Morgan Lane and found on it damage consistent with a rear-end accident.
The station wagon had about $3,000 in damage and is still drivable. Pelletier is due in Lincoln District Court on Oct. 3, police said.
Police said the Subaru was registered to a resident of Kelly Lane.
