BERNARD A. ‘BUNNY’ ROBB CALAIS – Bernard Alexander “Bunny” Robb, 88, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Atlantic Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Calais. Bunny was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Baileyville, son of the late Daniel and Florence (Millman) Robb. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a heavy machine gunner with the 380th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II in Rhineland and Central Europe. On June 21, 1948, he married Jean Hollingdale. Bunny worked as a meat cutter in Calais for 37 years, the first 32 years with A&P and the last five years with IGA. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Calais, and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council 149 and Sherman Bros. Post No. 3 American Legion, as well as a former member of Calais Lions Club, St. Croix Bowling Club and St. Croix Country Club. Bunny loved bowling and still held the record for the highest single game with wooden pins in the Eastern Maine Bowling Tournament. He also enjoyed golfing and playing cribbage. His most memorable times were those spent with his wife and family. In addition to his parents, Bunny was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel; four sisters, Anne Turnbull, Gertrude Babel, Mary Frye and Regina Gibson; and three brothers, Leonard, Walter and Philip Robb. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Robb; 10 children, Janice Williams-Tollison and her husband, Chuck, of Waco, Texas, Daniel Robb and his wife, Brenda, of Calais, David Robb and his wife, Cathy, of St. Augustine, Fla., Rona Robb and her friend, Joyce Dunphy, of Calais, Bernard Robb and his wife, Marcy, of Pawleys Island, S.C., Theresa Porter and her husband, Jim, of Calais, Mary Jean Redding and her husband, Jeff, of Calais, Patricia Reynolds and her husband, Dana, of Meddybemps, Martha Apkarian and her husband, Rob, of Alton Bay, N.H., and Catherine Cartwright and her husband, Brian, of Veazie; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, where the Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 31 Calais Ave., Calais, by Father James Plourde. Burial will be afterward at Calais Cemetery. Donations in Bunny’s memory may be made to Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, P.O.
