The Maine court system will hold its fall administrative week from Monday, Oct. 18, through Friday, Oct. 22.

All clerks offices in District and Superior courts in the state will be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m.

Regular hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. will resume Monday, Oct. 25.

The temporary hours will allow court personnel to catch up on paperwork without interruption, according to the Administrative Office of the Courts in Portland.

Judges will have an opportunity to catch up on research and writing. Only emergency matters will be heard in courtrooms.

Similar administrative weeks have been held every four to six months for the past several years. Administrative weeks in 2011 are scheduled for May 30 to June 3 and Aug. 29 through Sept. 3.
