UNION – Annabelle White Jameson, 94, formerly of Union, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born Oct. 15, 1915, in Levant, she was the daughter of Ora A. and Ida (Rhoades) White. She was a 1932 graduate of Lee Academy and 1936 graduate of Colby College. She married Colby Messer and they were married 28 years when he predeceased her. Anne led a full life raising four daughters and teaching in local schools. She taught 23 years at Union High School and Medomak Valley High School. Anne was active in Union Historical Society and Delta Kappa Gamma International sorority, and was a member of Knox County Retired Teachers’ Association. In addition, she was a longtime member of Peoples United Methodist Church, Union. She married Elmer Jameson and they were married 29 years when he predeceased her. Her interests were varied and kept her always very busy, whether it was gardening, camping, hiking, swimming or fishing for brook trout in her secret fishing holes. In her quiet times she loved to read and in recent years would be seen reading the Bangor Daily News every day from cover to cover. Surviving are her four daughters, Nancy I. Howard and her husband, Dwight, of Union, Lorna Pyzynski and her husband, Stan, of Bangor, Diane Jerome of Randolph and Lorraine Tamas and her husband, Robert, of Stratford, Conn.; stepchildren, Priscilla Simmons and her husband, Albert, and Elmer Jameson and his wife, Carol; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two husbands; and two brothers, Rhoades White and Delbert White. Calling hours will be held 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at East Union Cemetery, Miller Road, East Union, with the Rev. George Hodgkins officiating.
