KITTERY, Maine — An unresponsive duck hunter pulled from the Piscataqua River by Coast Guard officials has died.
A Maine Marine Patrol crew found the 65-year-old man Saturday on Gerrish Island during a search of the shoreline. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Crews launched the search after a fishing vessel reported finding a camouflage boot, life jacket and duck decoys east of the Portsmouth Harbor entrance.
The Coast Guard confirmed the man had been duck hunting alone.
