KENDUSKEAG and BANGOR – Jacqueline M. Spearing, 73, died Nov. 9, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Bangor, daughter of Richard V. and Rosalie E. (Hammond) Flagg. Jackie was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1955. She had been employed at Viners and Ansewn Shoe Co. in the packing room, and W.T. Grant Co., Bangor. She was an active member of Advent Christian Church, Bangor, where she taught Sunday school for many years, was a deaconess and at the time of her death was church clerk. Jackie was a former treasurer of Women’s Home and Foreign Mission Society, and a past president of King’s Daughters Home of Bangor. Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, Paul L. Spearing of Kenduskeag; two children, Terri L. Hartley and her husband, Loren, of Hermon, and the Rev. Steve L. Spearing and his wife, Pamela, of Hampstead, N.C.; four grandchildren, Joshua, Kati, Rachel and Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Jamie and Alexander; one brother, Stanley “Bub” Flagg and his wife, Connie, of Georgetown, Calif.; a very special niece, Karen Powers of Massachusetts; other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents, Charles and Eva Hammond; and one sister, Jean Seger. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Advent Christian Church, 2141 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Kenduskeag Village Cemetery.
