DEXTER and GREENVILLE – Dorothy H. Whitney, 87, died Nov. 21, 2010, at a Dexter health care facility. She was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Exeter, daughter of Benjamin and Madeline (Crawford) Hammond. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Whitney Jr.; and a brother, James Robert Hammond. She is survived by a son, Douglas Whitney; two grandchildren, Darcey Hall and Derica Martin; six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Bailey and Charles Martin, and Ethan, Jessica and Sarah Hall; and a great-great-grandchild, Aiden Hall, all of Greenville. At her request, there will be no public services at this time. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
