BUCKSPORT – Cynthia A. Leach, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, with her loving family by her side during her battle with cancer. She was born May 22, 1939, in Castine, the daughter of Harland W. and Ella M. (Howard) Leach. Cynthia had a special love of family and took great joy in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her dearest friend, Martha Fellows of Bucksport; her children, Marcia Simmons and husband, Edward, of Readfield, Janet Frake of Winthrop, Dennis Walls and wife, Kimberly, of Orrington and Lisa Walls of Bucksport; 10 grandchildren, Jacob Simmons, Casey Simmons, Jason Frake, Jacquelyn Draper, John Frake, James Frake, Meagan Somes, Matthew Sargent, Samuel Walls and Vanessa Boyce; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harland Leach and wife, Janice, of Bucksport; one sister, Rosemary Pease of Bucksport; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Cynthia was predeceased by one sister, Patricia Leach. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Evergreen Cemetery, Cape Rosier, Brooksville. A reception will be held after the graveside service at the home of her niece, Beth Roderick in Orland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cynthia’s memory to American Cancer Society, New England Division, Inc., One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
