SANGERVILLE – David C. Pratt, 71, passed away Nov. 24, 2010, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born April 29, 1939, son of Lyndon and Gertrude (Gallagher) Pratt. He graduated from Gorham State Teachers College, Gorham, and received his master’s degree in education from the University of Maine, Orono. David taught in SAD 46 and SAD 4, and had been a small business owner. His students recognized him as being firm but fair. He was a lifelong fisherman and was a member of several bass clubs. He loved traveling with his wife, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends around the country. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor (Bates) Pratt of Sangerville; a son, Alan Pratt of Guilford; two daughters, Anita Currier and her husband, Henry, of Auburn and Donna Pratt of New Hampshire; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sherwin Hatfield and his wife, Hallie, of Florida, Larry Pratt and his wife, Ana, of Washington state and Darrell Pratt of Arizona; a sister, Rosalie Hurdle of Florida; sister-in-law, Joyce Pratt of Hermon; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was predeceased by a son, Brent Pratt; and a brother, Lyndon Pratt. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. Spring burial will be at Crocker Cemetery, St. Albans.
