BREWER – Florence “Tena” Costain, 96, of Holden, died in her sleep Nov. 27, 2010, in Bangor. Tena was born Aug. 3, 1914, on French Island, Old Town, to Adelard and Agnes (Theriault) Godin. She was the eldest of 12 children, attended St. John’s and St. Mary’s Catholic churches, and worked at Kagen-Lown, Old Town, as a top-stitcher until her retirement. She loved reading, canning, traveling to Nova Scotia, summers at the chalet in Maisonnette, enjoying her flowers and trees planted by her son, and most of all, sharing her life with family and friends through stories of her past adventures. She is survived by her grandsons, Richard “Mac” Sullivan, and Richard Crosby and his wife, Teresa; stepdaughter, Pam Crosby of Bangor; sister, Rose Neuts of Westbrook; brother, Frederick Goodin of Texas; a special niece, Tena Rios of Austin, Texas; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband of 18 years, John Costain; son, Richard “Dick” Sullivan; son-in-law, Skip Crosby; granddaughter, Michelle Richards; nine of her siblings, and many other relatives and friends. The family of Tena Costain extends our sincere thanks for your thoughts and prayers. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Harts Corner Cemetery, Route 1A, Holden.
