DEDHAM – Bonnie Jean Oxley, 57, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. Bonnie was born Oct. 16, 1953, in Bangor, daughter of Edward Oxley of Eddington and Joanne (Dorr) Oxley of Hermon. Bonnie graduated from Bangor High School. She lived in Texas and in Aroostook County before returning to the Bangor area. She worked for Bangor City Nursing Facility for many years and most recently worked at Holbrook School, Holden. Bonnie was incredibly quick-witted and could make us all laugh, even when she wasn’t feeling well. She took care of all around her. She loved to go on adventures to Florida and Montreal, as well as Oklahoma to see the Grand National Horse Show. She is survived by her children, Kirk Small Jr. and Kristina Whalen; grandchildren, Kirk III, Hunter and Evan Small of Brewer and Ainsley Quinn and Broderick Trott Whalen of Hermon; her partner of many years, Gary Quimby of Dedham; brothers, Steve Oxley and wife, Sylvia, of Hermon and Alan Oxley of Bangor; sister, Katherine Goodine of Bangor; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Thompson, Steven Jr., Joseph, Tina and Ashley Oxley; and her dear friend, Lisa Gamblin of Brewer. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Hampden Snowmobile Club. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at this time.
