FORT KENT – Leone B. (Marin) Deprey, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, surrounded by many close family members at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wallagrass. She was the ninth of 18 children of Tommy and Phebe’ Marin. She is survived by sons and their spouses, Joel and Diane of Wallagrass, Allen and Marilyn of St. Augustine, Fla., and Patrick Jr. and William Bird of Prospect, Ky.; daughters and their spouses, Leonette and Lloyd Soucie of Fort Kent, Priscille and Gilles St. Onge of Plantsville, Conn., Rena Mae and Emile Levesque of Ashland, Joan and Allen Thibodeau of Fort Kent, Joyce and Phillip Nickerson of Chester, Calif., and Amy and Greg Ouellette of Fort Kent; as well as 18 grandchildren, Cara Kord, Brad Soucie, Michael Deprey, Marc and Melissa St. Onge, Jennifer Levesque, Adam Thibodeau and Sarah Gagnon, Alexandra and Madison Deprey, Michelle Crowley and Madeline Nickerson, and Alyssa, Amanda, Emily, Ellie, Gracie and Gregory Ouellette; 17 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ryan and Joshua Kord, Meg and Jack Soucie, Joel, Melanie and Jonah Deprey, Tyler and Amber St. Onge, Addyson and Meredith Thibodeau, Aidan and Ashtyn Gagnon, Hannah Deprey, and Olivia and Charlotte Crowley; sisters, Albertine Deprey, Anne Marie Belanger and husband, Emile, Alphena Sears Curtis and Alfreda Cook and husband, Everett; and in-laws, Rella, Aurore, Cecile Marin and Rudy Michaud. She was predeceased by her father, Tommy Marin; mother, Phebe’ Ouellette Marin Pinette; stepfather, Albert Pinette; husband, Patrick “Babe,” in 1993; daughter, Lorraine; son, Thomas; grandson, Jeffrey; brothers, Albert, Paul, Joseph, Bertrand, Arthur, Leonard, Leon and Leo; sisters, Adrienne Martin, Jeanette Saucier, Annette Marin, Therese Coulombe and Leona Michaud; and in-laws, Cyprien Martin, Lucienne Marin, Helaire Saucier, Florence Marin, Jacques Coulombe, Ammy Deprey, Elaine Marin and Robert Sears. Leone was the youngest octogenarian you could ever know. She was active with family matter, church activities of St. Joseph’s Parish, Dames De St. Anne, helping elder friends, RSVP, exercise and children. After her own children were grown, she earned her GED and certified nurse’s aide certification, and went on to work as a home health care provider with Aroostook Home Care for 15-plus years. Her life revolved around sharing kindness, and she was happiest caring for others in need and playing with children. All of her first, second and third generation children knew that she always gave unconditional love. We will all cherish her memory and remain committed to continuing her legacy and enduring spirit. Rest well till we meet again. Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wallagrass. Spring burial will be held Monday, May 16, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Wallagrass.
