NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Bertina M. Michaud, 64, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at home. Bertina was born in St. Francis, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Taggett) Duperry. She was the owner and operator of T&J Deburring, Berlin, Conn., and Bristol, Conn., for several years. One of Bertina’s favorite pastimes was spending quality time fishing with family and friends. Bertina is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Michaud of New Britain, Conn.; her two sons, David Tupper and his wife, Amy, of Newington, Conn., and Michael Michaud and his wife, Gloria, of South Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her two daughters, Renee Lipinski and her husband, Tom, of Cartersville, Ga., and Wendy Lee Michaud of Cheshire, Conn.; her grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Tupper, MJ and Matthew Michaud, and Danielle, Sean and Ashley Lipinski; her sister, Mildred Clark and her husband, Robert, of New Hampshire; her sister-in-law, Gertrude Duperry of Thomaston, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. The Michaud family thanks the nurses and staff at Visiting Nurses Association and Euro American Connections for their loving care and support. Funeral rites for Bertina will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, Conn. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Directions to funeral home: from I-84 East or West take Exit 37, Fienemann Road, then take a right off of exit, continue one mile; the funeral home is on the right. Funeral home is handicapped accessible.
