LINCOLN – Herbert A. White, 67, beloved husband of Dot, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at his home on the Little Narrows. He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Springfield, son of Matthew and Essie (Davis) White. He met the love of his life, Dorothy, in 1964 and they married in July 1967. Herb’s life was filled with love and laughter, and he enjoyed nothing more than to be surrounded by family and friends, especially out at camp. He loved fishing, four-wheeling and could be found many a night in front of the campfire with his karaoke machine. In addition to his wife, Dorothy of Lincoln, Herb is survived by his two daughters, Christy Marin and her fiance, Marc Scott, of Lincoln, and Deandra Briggs and her husband, Wayne, of Old Town; and his special nephew, Jeremy Cleveland and wife, Trish, of Waterbury, Conn. Grandpa will be sadly missed by his two grandchildren, Ashlee Marin of Lincoln and Jon Briggs of Old Town. One of 16 children, Herb is also survived by sisters, Althea Coty and husband, Bob, of Springfield, Audrey Downs and husband, Phillip, of Lee, and Delores Elliott and husband, Mike, of New York; and brothers, Omah White and wife, Brenda, of Prentiss, and Linwood White and wife, Doreen, of Lincoln. Herb will be missed and remembered by his family and friends, especially those on the lake.
