SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Police say a 31-year-old man faces two felony forgery charges for allegedly passing off two counterfeit $50 bills at supermarkets.
Police say Edward Arbour of Hallowell was arrested Saturday for attempting to pass a bogus bill at a Hannaford supermarket in Portland.
During the investigation, two Hannaford stores in nearby South Portland also reported they too had received counterfeit $50 bills.
South Portland police Lt. Frank Clark said Arbour then was charged for passing the bad bills at the South Portland stores.
