GREENVILLE JUNCTION – Frederick J. Pritham, 72, died Dec. 9, 2010, at his home. He was born Jan. 26, 1938, in Greenville, son of Carroll and Lenore (Smith) Pritham. After the death of his father, he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Howard C. Pritham, M.D. Fred graduated from Cristobal High School in the Panama Canal Zone. He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years with Hawk missile batteries, retiring as a master sergeant. After his retirement Fred returned to Greenville and worked as an outboard motor mechanic for W.L. Bartley, Inc. He was a member of Columbia Doric Masonic Lodge, Greenville. Fred was known for his ironic sense of humor and his interest in computers. He also enjoyed reading and was a train buff. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Howard G. Pritham and wife, Ellen, of Easton, N.H., E. Merrill Pritham and husband, Richard Gibson, of Fort Myers, Fla., Charles H. Pritham of Alacua, Fla., Andrew J. Pritham and wife, Sharon, of Houston, Texas, Sarah L. Pritham of Stockton, Calif., and Robin M. Pritham and wife, Ursula, of Bangor; his cousin and best friend, Walter Gary and wife, Wanda, of Greenville; several aunts, uncle, cousins, nephews and nieces.
