WINTERPORT – Roger E. Gould passed away Dec. 15, 2010. He was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Dixmont, son of Raymond and Nellie (Benson) Gould. Roger became a water well driller at the young age of 14 and was self-employed as a well driller all of his life. He was a founding member of Maine Water Well Drillers Association. He was a member of International Order of Odd Fellows No. 136, Monroe. He loved auto racing, going to Speedway 95, tinkering on motors, reading Civil War history, and heading to Florida for the winters. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Roger will be remembered as a dedicated family man and a loving friend to all. Roger is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye (Wescott); his children, Gary and wife, Heidi, Sherry Cole and husband, Ralph, and Rhonda Pellerin-Gervais and husband, Roland; six sisters, Marion Elwell, Adria Hughes, Gladys Staples, Selda Maxsimic, Charlene Hand and Carla LaRoche; three brothers, Brice, Kenneth and Keith; seven grandchildren, Troy, Jodi, Travis, Jason, Jess, Stephen and Nathan; five great-grandchildren, Corey, April, Isabella, Colby and Kaleb; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Bruce, Gerald and Richard. Family and friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, with Pastor Steve Nute officiating. Interment in the springtime will be at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Roger’s memory may be made to Nealley’s Corner Church, Deacon’s Fund, 1260 Kennebec Road, Hampden, ME 04444.
