DIXMONT – Harvard L. Nason, 76, died Dec. 17, 2010, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 3, 1934, in Newport, the son of Daniel and Gertrude (Gould) Nason. Harvard and his wife, Joyce, owned and operated Nason’s General Store, East Dixmont, for 56 years, and also operated a construction business and loved wheeling and dealing. He was a 50-year member of Archon Masonic Lodge No. 75 AF & AM, East Dixmont, and enjoyed outdoors, snowmobiling and hunting. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce (French) Nason of Dixmont; three sons, Ronald Nason and wife, Deborah, of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, Edward Nason and Brenda of Carmel and Larry Nason and his companion, Mary Addison, of Dixmont; his daughter, Cathy and her husband, Ralph Harris, of Dixmont; one brother, Harold Nason and wife, Shirley, of Dixmont; one sister, Barbara and husband, Bob Willey, of Bangor; four granddaughters, Nicole, Kristy, Sasha and Katie; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Kayin, Chase and Carter; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Howard. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Family Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
