WINDSOR – Carrie A. Lord, 50, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center. She was born June 30, 1960, in Tacoma, Wash., a daughter of William and Terry (Dionne) Stevens. She grew up and attended schools in Madawaska and in 1980, moved to the Augusta area. Carrie’s professional career spanned two decades of human resource and business management experience. In 2006, she achieved her master’s certificate in human resource management from Villanova University. She was the 2007 volunteer SI-IRM chapter president and state council member; 2006 SHRM vice president; 2004-2005 SHRM chapter treasurer; and has been a national member of Society of Human Resource Managers since 1998. From 1993 to 1995, Carrie was in involved with Hospice Volunteers of Kennebec County. She also volunteered at the Mason’s Thanksgiving soup kitchen in Gardiner for more than 12 years. In her down time, Carrie enjoyed spending time with her husband, Vinny, and dog, Blaze; riding their motorcycles and snowmobiles; kayaking, camping, golfing, skiing and most recently ballroom dancing. Carrie was predeceased by her father, William Stevens; a brother, Randy; and dog, Blaze. Carrie is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Vinny Lord of Windsor, and their dog, Howard; her mother, Terry Stevens of Springhill, Fla., and St. Agatha; her brother, Craig Stevens and his wife, Chantel, of Westbrook; her sister, Beth Griffith and her husband, Lee, and niece, Summer Anderson of Westport, Conn.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Christa and Ormand Lord of Farmingdale; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Carrie gives special thanks to Dr. James Brassard, the nursing and respiratory staff at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, on A-I and critical care units. A memorial service will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Road, Windsor.
