ORONO, HOULTON and HAYNESVILLE – Victor I. Jamison, 68, died Dec. 30, 2010, at Maine Medical Center, Portland. He was born Dec. 10, 1942, in Haynesville, son of Ernest and Blanche (Malone) Jamison. Victor attended schools in Haynesville and Hodgdon. He worked as a carpenter in Bristol, Conn., for many years, living with his good friend, Sonny, and won many horseshoe tournaments until retiring in the ’90s. After moving home to Maine, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with wood, making picnic tables and other pieces of furniture. He appreciated good food and was an accomplished cook who loved to cook and especially bake cookies. He was a giving man that always had a nice smile on his face and loved a good joke. Victor is survived by two sons, Thomas Jamison and his wife, Sandra, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Johnny Jamison and his wife, Laura, of Scarborough; four grandchildren, Victoria, Samantha and John Jamison of Albuquerque, N.M., and Alec Jamison of Scarborough; one brother, Edward Jamison of Hudson; three sisters, Wanda Perkins of Newburgh, Linda Emerson and her husband, Stan, of St. Petersburgh, Fla., and Julia Wellington and her husband, Linwood, of New Limerick; special nephews he thought of as his own sons, Dan Jamison and his wife, Cheryl, of Holden, and Jeff Jamison and his wife, Stephanie, of Bangor; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Tony Roy Jamison; his brother, Frank Jamison; and his sister, Freda Jamison. Special mention to all of his close and dear friends of the Forest Freeman community where he lived in Orono. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating.
