BANGOR – On Jan. 7, 2011, Bernice Berrie Libby died at her residence. She was born July 30, 1912, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Albert C. Berrie and Ethel Thompson Berrie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lewis E. Libby; and siblings, Burrell, Albert, Clinton, Winona and Norma. She is survived by daughters, Linda and her husband, R. Stanley Eaton, of Falmouth and Betsy and her husband Larry Cheever, of Bangor. Bernice delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Carrie Naas of Beaumont, Texas, and their children, Lauren and William, Stephen and Laura Naas, and their children, Madeline and Carter of Gardiner, Michael and Nickole Clendenning, and their children, Robert, Chloe and Kaitlyn of West Enfield, Kevin Clendenning and his daughter, Madison, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Aaron and Tami Cheever of Westbrook, Heather Eaton Gray and James of Massachusetts and Kristin Eaton of Connecticut; several cousins, nephews and special nieces; and sisters-in-law, Gladys Hand of Florida, Eleanor Philmore of Connecticut and Jean Thompson of Houlton. The family thanks the attentive and loving personnel at Winterberry Heights, Bangor, and the employees of Beacon Hospice, who cared for Bernice while she resided at Winterberry Heights. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at United Baptist Church, Ellsworth. Interment will be at a later date in Presque Isle.
