PERRY – Sharon L. Sabattus, 61, died Jan. 14, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility after a five-month courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Calais, the daughter of John and Carolyn (Matthews) Sabattus. Sharon attended schools in Calais and Presque Isle, and Husson College. She worked at Pleasant Point Housing Authority for more than 20 years. Sharon is survived by her mother of Brewer; her son, Craig Pelkey; her daughter, Nichole Bouchard, both of Bangor; her sister, Lisa Turner of Brewer; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Susan Esposito of Eastport and Diane Hunnewell of Calais; two uncles, Hollis Matthews of Eastport and Frank Matthews of Minnesota; and her best and caring friend, Annette Newell of Pleasant Point. Memorial services for Sharon will be held this spring in Calais. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
