EAST PLANTATION and FORT FAIRFIELD – Walter L. Ciesielski Jr., 66, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 15, 2011, at a Houlton health care facility, after an extended illness. He was born April 14, 1944, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Walter L. Sr. and Tressa Eliza (Everett) Ciesielski. Walter was educated in the Fort Fairfield school system and had been employed by Vahlsing’s and McCain’s, Easton, in the maintenance departments. Before his illness, Walter had been an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, boating, hunting and fishing, and was a life member of Presque Isle Fish and Game Club. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter L. Ciesielski Sr. and Tressa E. Ciesielski Barnes; and one brother, Frank Ciesielski. He is survived by two sons, Walter L. Ciesielski III and Richard Ciesielski and his wife, Shelley, all of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick; one brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Phillipa Ciesielski of Mapleton; three sisters, Mary Gamblin of Carlingford, New Brunswick, Virginia Chambers of Fort Fairfield and Barbara Gagnon of Caribou; four grandchildren, Jacqueline, Emma, Morgan and Katherine Ciesielski, all of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Randy Chambers and his wife, Rose, of Fort Fairfield; and special cousins, Jeff Gagnon and his wife, Lori, of Presque Isle, Bessie and Nancy Gagnon, both of Fort Fairfield. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will take place later in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Ciesielski to American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.
