CARIBOU – Karen Elaine Ouellette, 51, died Jan. 21, 2011, in Caribou, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 7, 1959, in Caribou, the daughter of Hector and Theresa (Marquis) Gagnon. Karen was a 1977 graduate of Caribou High School and she married Steven Ouellette June 30, 1978. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was employed in the finance office at Cary Medical Center. Karen was an avid Elvis Presley fan and loved traveling with her family to see various Elvis impersonators. Surviving in addition to her husband of more than 32 years, Steven of Caribou, are her two daughters, Candace Ouellette of Presque Isle and Stevie Ouellette of Caribou; her parents of Connor; three sisters, Patricia Asselin and her husband, Ray, of Sabbatus, Diane Landeen and her husband, Michael, of New Sweden and Lynn Cross of Caribou; two brothers, Michael Gagnon and his wife, Holly, of Connor and Gary Gagnon and his wife, Ann, of Caribou; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, with Father Aaron Damboise officiating. Interment will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. After the service, all are invited to the parish hall for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments with the family.
