RIPLEY and BANGOR – Wilmont Grant, 88, died Jan. 21, 2011, at a Bangor nursing home. He was born Feb. 26, 1922, in St. Albans, a son of Merle and Lyda (Parker) Grant. Wilmont served in the Blue Devils Division, 88th Regiment, 5th Army, U.S. Army in Italy from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. He worked as a machinist at Fay-Scott Landis, Dexter, for 41 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Bane) Grant; and a son, Barry Grant. He is survived by his daughter, Linda and husband, George Bridgham, of Bangor; three granddaughters, Shannon Goodine, Tracy Lang and Susan Busque; three grandsons, Mike and Chris Grant, and William Boyington; four great-grandchildren, Meaghan and Kennedi Goodine, Juliana Busque and Alexander Boyington; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Grant of Dexter. Private burial will be at Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans. Memorial donations may be made to Ripley United Methodist Church, care of Mrs. Dorothy Hutchins, 258 Lane Road, Ripley, ME 04930.
