EDDINGTON – Janette Marie (Rumill) Grindle, 80, died peace-fully Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 23, 1930, in Seal Harbor, daughter of Schuyler and Catherine (Pomery) Rumill.
Janette graduated from Gil-man High School, Northeast Harbor, Class of 1948. She married the love of her life, Miles Grindle, in October 1949. Janette was a very special person, and everybody who met her walked away with a little better feeling about life. She was an inspiration to many people, especially to her husband, Miles. Janette and Miles had their own insurance agency, and at that time in the 1980s computers were just coming into their own and she programmed a complete book keeping set up for the agency. She was the most courageous person you would ever meet and accepted adversity and went forward with a smile. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Miles Grindle of Eddington; a son, Christopher Grindle of Brewer and his two daughters, Brianna Marie and Cassidy Janette Grindle; and a daughter, Cheryl Grindle of Trenton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Schuyler and Robie; and a beloved sister, Karen MacLeod. The family thanks the following organizations for all the care, comfort and love they showed Janette: Capitol Ambulance, Eddington Fire and Rescue, emergency room staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center, nurses and doctors of Eastern Maine Medical Center and the dialysis department of Eastern Maine Medical Center.
