MILLINOCKET – Theresa S. Nelson, 84, died Jan. 24, 2011, at her home, due to complications from Alzheimer’s. Theresa was born May 30, 1926, in Vermont, daughter of the late Viola Ruby Shortsleeve and Harold Leonard. She grew up in the Burlington, Vt., and Montpelier, Vt., areas. Theresa married Roy Nelson in 1956 and raised their daughters in Glastonbury, Conn. Theresa worked several years as a supervisor with telephone companies in Vermont and Maine. She also worked at IBM in Connecticut for more than 10 years, and owned her own telephone answering service in Glastonbury, Conn. Terry adored her children and was passionate about family gatherings. She enjoyed countless hours gardening, crocheting, decorating her home, playing with family pets, camping with her grandchildren, and sharing laughter, stories and fun family memories with her husband, Roy. Theresa is survived by daughters, Bonnie and Robert Bailey of Niskayuna, N.Y., Pam and Paul Guiliano of East Hartford, Conn., Jerilynn and Brendan Howley of Manchester, Conn., and Diane Gladu of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Max, Sydney, Paul, Courtney and Jessica; and great-grandchild, Luca. Her grandchildren live in Kentucky, Florida, New York and Connecticut. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at St. Martin of Tours Church, Millinocket.
