LUBEC – Arlene Mae Greenlaw, 84, died peacefully Jan. 25, 2011, at her home. She was born Jan. 4, 1927, daughter of Owen and Elizabeth (Mahar) Wilson.

She will be always remembered for her friendly and outgoing personality, and her desire to help others. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, canning and making preserves. She loved making things and giving to everybody. She was dedicated to her family and greatly loved her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed and is survived by her children: three sons, Eugene and wife, Lynette, of Lubec, Brian and wife, Nancy, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Gary of Pembroke, and three daughters, Cathy Cook and husband, Noel, of Campobello, Brenda Burns of Lubec, and Cindy Newman and husband, Jim, of Campobello; grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Corey, Brian Jr., Allen, Kelly, Mark, Jonie, Amanda, Kerry, Dougie and Timmy; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Tompkins, Rowena Brown and Colleen Haight; a brother-in-law, Rupert and his wife, Christine; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Douglas E. Greenlaw, in 1992; and a brother, Walter.

Memorial services will be held May 28 at Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with burial after at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
