BAILEYVILLE – Steven Norman Bishop, 54, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 25, 2011, at his home. Steven was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Millinocket, to Charles and Jean (Foss) Bishop.
He grew up in East Millinocket and moved to Canada, where he attended Simonds High School, Saint John, New Brunswick. He later moved with his family to Baileyville, where he worked for 25 years at the paper mill. Steven was a loving man who would give you the shirt off his back, literally. He was an excellent drummer who loved music, enjoyed the company of friends and lived life for his family. Steven had a great love for animals; he cared for his pets like they were his children.
Steven was predeceased by his father, Charles N. Bishop.
He is survived by his mother, Jean L. Bishop of Baileyville; his soul mate and life companion, Brenda Edgerly and her children, Crystal, Denise and Richard, and a very special grandson, Daniel, all of Baileyville; three sisters, Pam Bishop of Harvey Station, New Brunswick, Pattie (McCarthy) Morrisay and her husband, Daniel, of Hampton, New Brunswick, and Kerry Perry and her husband, Barney, of Baileyville; a brother, Scott Bishop of Portsmouth, N.H.; several nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, with father James Plourde officiating. The family welcomes friends to gather after the service at Kerry Perry’s home, 120 Washington St., Baileyville. Interment will be in the spring at Woodland Cemetery.
