ARUNDEL – Ann M. Sweeney, 75, died Jan. 23, 2011. She was born June 5, 1935, in Portland, daughter of Raymond VanCour and Gladys Brennan.
She enjoyed music, dancing, watching Lifetime movies, playing bingo, the Red Sox and spending time with her family and friends. She lived a great life and enjoyed traveling.
Ann is survived by one son, Glen Gould and his wife, Brenda, of Patten; three daughters, Christy Hall and her husband, Richard Jr., of Mount Chase, Claudia Stewart of Saco and Cynthia Brown and her husband, Shawn, of Arundel; 19 grandchildren, Jason, Shannon, Trina, Ralph, Christy, Vicki, Glen Jr., Chelsey, Richard, Matthew, Rose, Shannon Grass, Andrew, Richa, Michael Lane, Ron, Alyssa, Michael and Jeffrey Stewart; 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way; half sister, Valerie Goodwin; half brother, Raymond VanCour, both of Indiana; two aunts, Carlene and Terese; several cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Stanley Sweeney; two children, Richard B. Gould and Cheryl Longmore Hartt; and a great-grandson, Nathan Grass.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with a time of fellowship afterward at the parish center.
