STACYVILLE – Edna I. Cullen, 80, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 7, 2011, after a courageous struggle with cancer. She was born May 18, 1930, in Howland, the youngest child of Edward and Beatrice (Cullins) Brackett.

Most of Edna’s childhood years were spent in Stacyville, where she later met the love of her life, William “Bill” Cullen. They were married in 1946, making their home in Stacyville, where they raised their four sons. Edna and Bill were longtime members of Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. Edna was a devoted wife, mother and nana. Everyone who knew her considered her a friend. Edna and Bill shared 63 years together before his passing June 10, 2010.

In addition to her beloved husband, Bill, Edna was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Alfred Brackett. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Jerry and Rebecca of Patten, William and Nancy of Woodridge, N.Y., Brent and Susan of Patten and Matthew and Holly of Hudson; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Shirley Brackett and his wife, Carolee, of Mattawamkeag; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family sends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Abouleish, Dr. Blagdon, Hospice of Aroostook team and the staff of Mountain Heights Healthcare Facility for the loving care provided to our special lady in her last days.

A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, with Pastor Donnie Willigar officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of service at the church. Spring interment will be at Sherman Corner Cemetery.
