DOVER-FOXCROFT – Lydia “Mamalydia” Zepeda, 83, passed away Jan. 9, 2011, while visiting family in El Salvador.
Mamalydia moved to Maine from El Salvador in 1980 to be with her children. She never tired of doting on her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Salvador “Papachamba” Zepeda; six daughters, Rubidia Zepeda, Doris Woodward, Elsy Reyes, Anna Hosea, Sonia Stevenson and Lidia Danz; two sons, Salvador Zepeda Jr. and Adolfo Zepeda, and their respective families; as well as five siblings residing in San Salvador.
Services were held January 14 in El Salvador. A memorial service will be held this summer in Maine.
