CARMEL – Peter B. “Pete” Newcomb, 67, died Feb. 9, 2011, at his home. He was born April 23, 1943, in Carmel, son of Allen I. and Phyllis M. (Moorse) Newcomb.
Peter graduated from Carmel High School, Class of 1961, where he enjoyed playing basketball. Peter married his high school sweetheart, Betty Kennedy, and they settled in Carmel. They were married 47 years. He was a member of the Maine Army National Guard. Peter was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and he loved the woods.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters. Peter is survived by his wife, Betty (Kennedy) Newcomb; two daughters, Marcie Pasternack and her husband, Tom, of Bangor, and Shana Newcomb of Carmel; four grandchildren, Corey Hartley, Casey Hartley, Hannah Pasternack and Haley Pasternack, all of Bangor; and one brother, Allen Newcomb of Wells.
