With the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, Egypt faces the daunting task of building a new system of government. Will it be able to create a parliamentary representative democracy? What will be the roadblocks to achieving this?
Will Islamic fundamentalists try to assert control over the state? What about the military – will it relinquish control? Will the new state remain an ally to the U.S.? Will it be a leader in the Middle East and perhaps help other countries throw off autocratic rule?
