BANGOR – Janet L. McCann, 82, wife of the late Donald McCann, died Feb. 24, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Brewer, the daughter of Charles and Minerva (Connolly) Lawrence.
Janet grew up in South Brewer and was employed by St. Joseph Hospital in the housekeeping department for 20 years. She enjoyed the times spent camping and talking on the citizens band radio, playing cards with friends and traveling with her longtime companion, the late Peter Lockwood. Janet loved her family.
Surviving are two children, Joyce LaBier and Judith Ammerman, both of Bangor; four grandchildren, Donald McCann of Bangor, Denise McCann of Boston, Morgan Drinkwater and Debra Ammerman, both of Bangor; four great-grandchildren, Jasmine Giles, Keith, Robert and Kadon McCann; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Janet was predeceased by a son, Robert McCann; one sister, Agnes Lawrence; and three brothers, Thomas, Frederick and Richard Lawrence.
Family and friends are invited to a service honoring Janet’s life 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
