CORINTH – Priscilla Reeves (Allen) Ellis, 76, went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 25, 2011. She was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Montclair, N.J., the daughter of Helen May (Reeves) Allen and Manuel Hewitt Allen.
She moved to Los Angeles at age 13 where she lived until moving to Maine after marriage. Priscilla was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Priscilla worked as a teacher’s aide at Corinth Academy, for the U.S. Postal Service and various insurance companies. She also received her associate degree in dental hygiene at University of Redlands in California. Priscilla was a 30-year member of Corinth Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working with the youth. Priscilla also had a passion for horses. She fondly reminisced about her “Palomino Days” with her husband, Carrol. She served as grand marshal at Bass Park Raceway in the 1960s, and was a recent member of Northeast Peruvian Horse Club.
Priscilla is survived by her daughter, Rosanne Ellis Young and son-in-law, Jerry Young, and two cherished grandchildren, Noah and Carolanne Young, of Corinth; three cousins, Wayne Allen of Pennsylvania, Glenn Allen of Massachusetts and Gary Allen of Florida; sister-in-law, Greta Ellis of Florida; nephew, Greg Ellis of North Carolina; and special friends, Blanche, Frank and Terry. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carrol A. Ellis, in 1988; and her parents.
Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Corinth Baptist Church, 331 Main St., Corinth, with Pastor Kirk Mellon officiating.
