SEBAGO, Maine — Thousands of ice fishing enthusiasts are turning out as Maine’s largest ice-fishing challenge kicks off on Sebago Lake.

The Sebago Lake Ice Fishing Derby takes place Saturday and Sunday. This is the 11th year for the event, which is put on by the Sebago Lake Rotary Club.

This year, derby organizers are offering $100,000 to anybody who catches a state record-breaking lake trout during weekend.

The club bills the event as the state’s largest and richest ice-fishing derby, drawing up to 6,000 people.
