DEXTER – Robert L. Yeo, 81, died Feb. 25, 2011, at his home. He was born May 24, 1929, in Dexter, the son of James and Marion (Folsom) Yeo.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star. For many years he worked as a millwright and as a carpenter in Maine and throughout the country. He was a 50-year member of Penobscot Masonic Lodge, Dexter, and a member of Anah Shrine, Bangor. In later years Robert and his wife enjoyed many winters in Florida and summers in Dexter.
He is survived by two sons, David Yeo and his wife, Judy, of Glenburn and Dale Yeo and his wife, Ivy, of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Nicole and her husband, Matt Fisher, of Bangor, Tedda Yeo of Portland, Tyler Yeo and his wife, Sarah, of Gardiner, Zach Yeo of Glenburn, Robbie Yeo and his wife, Jessie, of Guilford, Ryan Yeo of Guilford and Adam Badger of Pittsfield; one great-grandson, Masyn Allen; and a sister, Alta Sawyer of Florida. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Powers) Yeo; and a sister, Norma Sprague. Special thanks to Diane Perkins and Trudy Levensalor for their professional and loving care. At his request, graveside services with military honors will be held in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
