EAGLE LAKE – Sharon E. Drolet, 61, passed away into the arms of the Lord Feb. 28, 2011, with her loving family by her side, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was born Oct. 18, 1949, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of Malcolm and Gertrude (Desjardon) Williams.
She attended school in Chelsea and worked most recently as a certified nurse’s aide until retiring several years ago. Sharon and her beloved and devoted husband, Art chose to raise their family in Maine, residing in Limestone then in Eagle Lake for the past 23 years. During retirement they traveled in their RV as “snowbirds” wintering in Florida and spending summers at their lakeside campsite. Sharon devoted her life to her family. She gave all she could to her children and grandchildren. With her outgoing personality, she made friends easily and will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Arthur Drolet; four children, Arthur III and his wife, Jeanette Drolet, Cheryl and her husband, Jeremy Fournier, Jeffrey and his wife, Natisha Drolet, and Jason and his wife, Fancy Drolet, all of Eagle Lake; one brother, John Williams of Lowell, Mass.; two sisters, Kathleen Williams of Cambridge, Mass., and Patricia and her husband, Mike Janko, of Woburn, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, Johnny Labbe, Mason, Morgan, Ashton Drolet, Emily, Allison, Ryan Fournier, Evan, Kahne Drolet, and Vivian Drolet; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services will be held in the spring, May 16, in the parish cemetery. In keeping with the family’s wishes, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Edgar J. “Guy” Paradis Cancer Fund, Northern Maine Medical Center, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
