EAST MILLINOCKET – Irene C. Wood, 74, died March 8, 2011, after a long illness. Irene was the daughter of Dorothy M. Jellison and Stanley Connors.
Irene is survived by her husband of 56 years, Virgil E. Wood; son, Virgil Jr.; daughter, Debra Woolley and husband, Richard; granddaughters, Christy Whitmore and husband, Henry, and Dorothy Budd; great-grandchildren, Rachel Whitmore and Jesse Budd; brother, Carl F. Connors and wife, Marge; as well as several other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother; stepfather, John M. Jellison; her father; and sister, LoLita Pratt.
As Irene requested, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
