CARIBOU – Wilfred Robideau Jr. 89, died March 11, 2011, in Caribou. He was born June 3, 1921, in Limestone, son of the late Wilfred and Geneve (Martin) Robideau Sr.

Mr. Robideau served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a life member and past commander of Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as a member and past commander of the Purple Heart veterans group. Wilfred was employed by the civil service at Loring Air Force Base for more than 25 years as a heavy equipment operator, and was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marie (Lacombe) Robideau of Caribou; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Robideau was predeceased by his first wife, Joan “Jo” (Dube) Robideau.

Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Military honors will be by the officers and members of the VFW. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
