UNITY, Maine — The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association will host 2011 Knowledge Transfer Alliance, a free business management seminar at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Ave. (Route 3), Belfast.
The seminar will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 26. Topics will include:
- Setting your vision and sticking to it.
- Marketing your business.
- Time management 101.
- Using Internet marketing and social networking.
- Quickbooks introduction.
- Building your budget and record keeping in Excel
- Quickbooks specific topics.

MACHIAS, Maine — SuprTEK, The Washington County Food and Fuel Alliance and 15 other businesses are teaming up for the inaugural countywide canned food drive during April and May.
The goal is to collect 6,000 cans of food and $6,000. The canned goods will increase the availability of food at the pantries. Money will help people purchase items they still need.
The canned goods and money will be divided among the 12 food pantries in Washington County. SuprTEK is matching $1 for every can its employees collect. Monetary donations can be mailed to SuprTEK at P.O. Box 629, East Machias, ME 04630. They also can be made online at www.foodandfuel.org.
The Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a kick-off event 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at SuprTEK on Route One in East Machias.
