BURLINGTON – Vanessa Ann Bates, 51, passed away peacefully March 16, 2011, at her home. She was born May 23, 1959, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., daughter of Alvin Bates and Shirley Tyler.
Vanessa loved spending time with her grandchildren and riding her motorcycle. She loved tending her flower garden in the spring and summer. Her favorite flower was the rose. She enjoyed going to yard sales, camping, snowsledding and four-wheeling. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and always looked forward to a family gathering. She also loved her stylish hats.
She is survived by her fiance, Freeman Peaslee; her son, Daniel Mushero; her daughter, Candace Mushero; goddaughter, Bobbi-Jo Solomon; three stepsons, Jeffery, Nathan and Adam Peaslee; her father, Alvin Bates and his wife, Mabel; stepfather, Robert Tyler; grandchildren, Hailey Faloon, Desmen Drinkwater, Danika Mushero, D.J. Delano and Bradly Dill; brothers, Peter Bates and his wife, Donna, David Bates and his wife, Jenine, Thomas Bates and his wife, Isabel, Scott Tyler, Robert Tyler and Russell Tyler, and their families; and sisters, Rachel Worster and her husband, Kenneth, Cindi Ginn, Rhonda Jette, Debbie Torey and Tanya Bates, and their families. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and some very special friends, Debbie Dobson, Hazel Chase and Toni Smith. She was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Ann Tyler; grandmother, Madeline Cravalho; several nephews, aunts and uncles. Vanessa will be missed by all who knew her and loved her, especially by her beloved dog, Cubby.
