FORT MYERS, Fla. — Nate Ellis had a pair of RBI singles to lead the Colby College baseball team past Manchester 5-1 in the first game of a doubleheader Monday.
Manchester took game two, 10-1.
In the first game, Connor Sullivan allowed one run on four hits while Taro Gold and Brandon Nieuw each added two singles apiece for the Mules.
In the second game, Manchester scored three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to break open a tight game.
Richard Newton doubled and singled while Devin McConnell doubled for Colby.

At Winter Haven, Fla., freshman Joey Voss held the University of Southern Maine of Gorham to no runs, four hits and two walks through 7 1/3 innings in leading St. Olaf College to victory.
Brady Sand singled, advanced to third on an error and stole home to give St. Olaf a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning. Matt Kieffer drove home Sean Dube in the sixth to produce an insurance run.
Sophomore Chris Bernard doubled to lead off the second for the Huskies.

Colby drops two

At Clearmont, Fla., Colby College dropped a pair of games Monday, falling to Wellesly College 6-1 and the University of Chicago 3-0.
In the first game, Kelly Roth had Colby’s lone hit with a run-scoring single, while Lauren Becker worked a complete game in taking the loss.
In the second game, Chicago scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings while shutting out the Mules.
