MILLINOCKET and EXETER – Seth D. Knowlton, 33, died unexpectedly March 27, 2011. He was born June 2, 1977, in Bangor, the son of Douglass and Judith Knowlton.

Seth attended Millinocket schools and was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1996. Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years as a combat engineer and combat lifesaver. He was honorably discharged in 1999. Seth then worked in home construction and repair. He was a very talented wood craftsman. Seth also enjoyed, and was very good at being, a “master chef” – his favorite dishes always included pasta. His two passions in life were his family and the outdoors. Seth was an avid sportsman, his favorite outdoor sports being fishing, hunting and four-wheeling.

In addition to his parents of Millinocket, he is survived by his two children: son, Devin Decker of Manhattan, Kan., who he was very proud of, and the light of his life, Lily “Bug” Knowlton, of Bangor; his brother, Jesse Knowlton and partner, April Cammack, and niece, Mya Knowlton, all of Portland; his sister, Lisa Morton and her husband, Michael, and nephew, Evan, all of Exeter; and “adopted” family member, Justin Healey. Other surviving family members include maternal aunt, Kathy Bishop and husband, John, and cousins, Katie and Nicholas; paternal uncle, Mark Pease and his fiancee, Dianne Grandmaison, and cousins, Tyler, Hanna and Nolan; paternal uncle, Daryl Knowlton and his wife, Marcy, and cousins, Amy, Carrie and Daryl Jr.; paternal uncle, Donn Knowlton and his wife, Maria, and cousins, Ross and Nicole; and stepuncle, Robert Leveille and his wife, Catherine, and cousin, Elizabeth, and cousin, Brian Allen. Seth is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Electa Knowlton. Seth was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Elmer G. Knowlton; and maternal grandparents, Barbara Montgomery Pease and W. Eugene Pease.

A private service celebrating Seth’s life will be held for the family.
