BANGOR – Thelma E. Anderson died March 18, 2011, at a Rockport health care facility.
She was born in Round Hill, Nova Scotia, daughter of Daisy Ann Corkum and Harry N. Eaton.
Thelma moved to Belfast as a child and graduated from Crosby High School and from Husson College, Class of 1942.
She had a long career in various offices in Bangor. Thelma was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She was also active in many clubs and organizations. Thelma and her husband spent many happy years volunteering after their retirement. They were active in Bangor Historical Society, Galen Cole Land Transportation Museum, Eastern Maine Medical Center Oncology Unit, RSVP, Westgate Manor, and many other organizations wherever they saw the need.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Richmond Anderson, in 1999; as well as her 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a close niece, Stephanie Clapp and husband, John, of Camden.
A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Canon Mary Ann Taylor, pastoral associate of St. John’s Episcopal Church, presiding. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
