HOULTON – Brenda L. Putnam, 56, passed away March 25, 2011, at Houlton Regional Hospital. Her light has faded, but shines bright in the hearts of her parents, Ronald and Norma Suitter.

Her strong work ethic started at 11 years old, babysitting and cleaning houses for spending money. She graduated in 1972 and spent a short time with Putnam Brothers, and then started her career in the banking industry, from First National Bank, Depositors Trust, Key Bank to more than two decades as a valuable employee of Katahdin Trust. She kept her “Key Bank Kids,” Gwenie, Eva, Susie and Wally, near and dear, celebrating birthdays and Christmas with old friends.

She leaves one sister, Lori McGillicuddy, her lifeline for the past six weeks; two brothers, Steven Suitter of Machiasport and Kevin Suitter of Oak Park, Calif.; three nieces, Tara Southerland of Clarksville, Tenn., Kori Sumner of Honolulu and Kristen Graham “Lovely Girl” and her fiance, Kevin Sanford, of Hampden; three nephews, Steven and Seth Suitter of Linneus and Micah McGilicuddy of Littleton; two great-nieces, Miley Suitter and Madison Sumner; and a great-nephew, Gavin Sumner. She also leaves behind dear friends, Willis and Priscilla Green, aka Shorty and Mr. O.F.F., of Oakfield; a very special aunt and uncle, Nette and Ed Levasseur and their very loving children, Linda, Carie, Michelle and Lee; also her “go-to-guy,” cousin, Tim “Tine” Suitter; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; two very special girls at Katahdin Trust Op center, “T” and “Coner”; and Paul Graham and his vets biker group. We can’t name all of her friends, but you know who you are and you know how much she thought of you.

At Brenda’s request, there will be no services. Committal services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton. For an online memory book and to leave condolences, please visit
