FORT FAIRFIELD and LIMESTONE – Catherine Marie Johndro Kenney, 82, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. Marie was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Chester and Susan (Rochford) Hanson.

Marie graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1947 and was class historian. She was employed for 31 years at Loring Air Force Base in civil service management and procedures. She was a longtime member of Ladies of St. Anne and served as president for six years. She was a longtime communicant of St. Louis Parish, Limestone. She was also a member of the local Red Hat Ladies Chickadees, as well as American Legion Ladies Auxillary Post No. 15, Caribou.

She is survived by four children, David Johndro of Las Vegas, Jerry Johndro of Caribou, Jackie Johndro of Fort Fairfield and Dolly Haney and her husband, Dana, of Caribou; a stepson, David Kenney and his wife, Carole, of Bennington, Vt.; a sister, Phyllis Cyr of Fort Fairfield; a brother, Louis Hanson and his wife, Sally, of Fort Fairfield; six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Oreid Johndro; her second husband, Howard Kenney; and two brothers, Raymond and Paul Hanson.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Parish with the Rev. Aaron Damboise, celebrant. A reception will be held after the service in the parish hall. A committal service will be held in the spring at St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone.
