BANGOR – Marlin K. “Rex” Rexrode, 80, died April 8, 2011, at a Bangor health care center. He was born June 28, 1930, in Staunton, Va., son of Fred A. and Myrtle M. (Finn) Rexrode.
Marlin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. His lifelong passions were his faith in God and teaching ballroom dancing for more than 50 years. He was most recently a member of Faith Baptist Church, Orono.
Surviving are eight children, Sara Dickinson of Bradford, Timothy Rexrode of Bangor, Rebecca Rexrode de Chavez of Oaxaca, Mexico, Andrea Bannister of St. Albans, Vt., Kevin Rexrode of Fort Lee, N.J., Bruce Rexrode of Wakefield, R.I., Cynthia Santoli of Hedgesville, W.Va., and David Rexrode of Wakefield, R.I.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Steven Eddy of Genesse, Pa., and Kevin Eddy of Pottstown, Pa.; three sisters, Leah Rexrode of Pensacola, Fla., Bonnie Eddy of Monocacy, Pa., and Lynette Smelley of Houston; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Rath. Marlin’s family gratefully thanks the staff of Ross Manor for their continued care and support.
Family and friends may visit noon-2 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Faith Baptist Church, 160 Forest Ave., Orono, where a service honoring his life will be held 2 p.m. as the visitation concludes with Pastor David Natale, presiding.
