MADAWASKA – Clarence H. Lagasse, 82, died peacefully April 13, 2011, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born Oct. 18, 1928, in St. David, son of Joseph and Josephine (Dufour) Lagasse.

He was a member of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus No. 2638, Madawaska. He worked for Fraser Paper, Madawaska, as a construction supervisor until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gaetane Bouchard of Madawaska; one son, Albert Lagasse of Madawaska; three daughters and their husbands, Louise and Danny of Millinocket, Patricia and Robert Morneault of St. Jacques, New Brunswick, and Nancy and John Morin of Columbia, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Veronique and Philip of Morneault, Matthew Pelletier, Pamela Sweeney, Victoria Morin, Alex Morin and Christine Morin; one great-grandchild, Emma Pelletier; one brother, Armand of Madawaska; and five sisters, Mrs. Emilia Dufour of Frenchville, Rose Dionne of Madawaska, Cecile and her husband, Gerard Fournier, of St. Basile, New Brunswick, Rina and her husband, Gerard Soucy, of Madawaska, and Joanne and her husband, Gerald Winfrey, of Madawaska. He was predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Gerard; and three sisters, Delia, Ernestine and Therese.

Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. David Church with the Rev. Jacques Lapointe officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. David Cemetery du Mont Carmel.
